Fast Solution to Problem: Bug in Windows 8.1 Update

Bug in Windows 8.1 Update

I guess I can complain about this now that the update 1 has been "officially" released, but the update is already buggy.
If you enable "Show Windows Store Apps on the Taskbar" in the taskbar properties, you will ALWAYS be returned to the desktop when you close Windows Store Apps.

The setting "When I sign in or close all apps on a screen, go to the desktop instead of Start" has no effect on this behavior as long as "Show Windows Store Apps on the Taskbar" is enabled.

In order to return to the Start screen, you have to disable the  "Show Windows Store Apps on the Taskbar" which defeats the purpose.

I happen to like the start screen and if I'm using modern apps, I WANT to go to the start screen, NOT the desktop.
So in order to do this I can't show store apps on the taskbar.

I thought they'd have fixed this by now, but apparently not.
When is this going to be fixed?
I don't need a "try this...
do that...." response.  This is a bug, plain and simple.
